He was reputed to have invented the first armoured battleship (Kobukson) in 1592, which is said to be the precursor of the present day submarine. The reason why this pattern ends with a left hand attack is to symbolize his regrettable death, having no chance to show his unrestrained potentiality checked by the forced reservation of his loyalty to the king.

The Aberdeen University Taekwon-Do club (AUTKD) has been around for over 10 years now. John joined the club in 2003 at the age of 17 whilst still finishing his final year at school, without actually realising it was a university only club. He was then told “Get into Aberdeen Uni, or leave the club”. Needless to say, he began a degree in computing science shortly after, and has never looked back since.

Competitions are a great opportunity to test your skills against students from other clubs. In our club they also provide a great social event as we usually hire a minibus and take a roadtrip to wherever the competition is held.
Unfortunately there are not too many competitions we can attend, so make sure you dont miss out.

I always try to encourage the use of small pads as training tools, especially to practice fast snappy kick combinations across the hall. I myself have learned about the benefit of such training exercises when I was studying WTF Taekwondo back in the days. These exercises bring results in speed, accuracy, control and fast thinking. They are especially useful to prepare for sparring. They are also quite exhausting and thus a good workout.

The forceful and finer techniques of attack and defense are largely dependent on a correct stance since the stance is the starting point of

Needless to say, the success or failure of Taekwon-Do training depends largely on how one observes and implements the Tenets of Taekwon-Do which should serve as a guide for all serious students of the art.
The Tenents Of Taekwon-do are as follows:

The beginning student may ask; “Where does one obtain the power to create the devastating results attributed to Taekwon-Do?” This power is attributed to the utilization of a person’s full potential through the mathematical application of Taekwon-Do techniques. The average person uses only 10 to 20 percent of his potential. Anyone, regardless of size, age, or sex who can condition himself to use 100 percent of his potential can also perform the same destructive techniques.

Most of the theory that is taught to ITF Taekwon-Do students across the globe is taken from the Condensed Taekwon-Do Encyclopedia. This book is written by the late Grand Master Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Taekwon-Do. It is the ultimate source of knowledge for every advanced Taekwon-Do student. In our club you might occasionally hear the senior students refer to the Bible of Taekwon-Do, well this is the book that is meant.
