Yul-Gok

  • Yul-Gok is the pseudonym of a great philosopher and scholar Yi I (1536 - 1584) nicknamed the “Confucious of Korea”. The 38 movements of this pattern refer to his birthplace on 38th degree latitude and the diagram (?) represents “scholar”.
  • Yul-Gok has 38 movements with 16 moves.
  • It is the first pattern to include a jump.




Ready Stance: Paralel Ready Stance
1 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch Measure (move the left foot towards B)
2 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (do not move the feet)
3 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (perform 2 and 3 in a fast motion, do not move the feet)
4 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch Measure (move the left foot next to your right foot then move your left foot towards A)
5 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (do not move your feet)
6 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (perform 2 and 3 in a fast motion, do not move your feet)
7 Walking Stance Inner Forearm Middle Obverse Block (move your right foot diagonally forward towards line AD)
8 Low Front Snap Kick (kick with the left foot towards E)
9 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the left foot towards E)
10 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Reverse Punch (perfrom 9 and 10 in a fast motion, do not move the feet)
