Hwa-Rang

  • Hwa-Rang is named after the Hwa Rang youth group which originated in the Silla Dynasty in the early 7th century. The 29 movements refer to the 29th Infantry Division, where Taekwon-Do developed into maturity.

1 Sitting Stance Palm Pushing Block (move the left leg towards B, facing D)
2 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (do not move your feet)
3 Sitting Stance Front Forefist Middle Punch (do not move your feet)
4 L-Stance Twin Forearm Block (move the right foot into the stance towards A)
5 L-Stance Front Forefist Upward Punch (do not move the feet)
6 Fixed Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (slide both feet towards A)
7 Vertical Stance Knifehand Downward Strike (pull the right foot back into the stance)
8 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the left foot towards A)
9 Walking Stance Outer Forearm Low Obverse Block (move the left foot toweards D)
10 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the right foot towards D)
11 Release From A Grab (pull the left foot towards the right)
12a Middle Side Piercing Kick (kick with the right foot)
12b L-Stance Knifehand Middle Side Strike (move the right foot towards D)
13 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the left foot towards D)
14 Walking Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the right foot towards D)
15 L-Stance Knifehand Guarding Block (move left foot Counter-clockwise towards E)
16 Walking Stance Straight Fingertip Thrust (move the right foot towards E)
17 L-Stance Knifehand Guarding Block (move the right foot on line EF and turn Counter-clockwise and move the left foot towards F)
18 High Turning Kick (kick with the right foot moving towards F)
19a High Turning Kick (kick with the left foot moving towards F, perform 18 and 19a in a fast motion)
19b L-Stance Knifehand Guarding Block (move the left foot towards F)
20 Walking Stance Outer Forearm Low Obverse Block (move left foot Counter-clockwise towards C)
21 L-Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (pull the left foot into the stance whilst facing towards C)
22 L-Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the right foot towards C)
23 L-Stance Front Forefist Middle Obverse Punch (move the left foot towards C)
24 Walking Stance X-Fist Pressing Block (move the left foot into the stance towards C)
25 L-Stance Side Elbow Thrust (pivoting on the left foot turn Counter-clockwise and slide towards C, you should end up facing towards D)
26 Close Stance Inner Forearm High Side Front Block (turn the left foot Counter-clockwise bring it next to the right foot facing B)
27 Close Stance Inner Forearm High Side Front Block (do not move the feet)
28 L-Stance Knifehand Guarding Block (move the left foot towards B)
29 L-Stance Knifehand Guarding Block (move the left foot next to the right and then move the right foot towards A)
Bring the right foot back to the ready position
