The Aberdeen University Taekwon-Do School was founded by Mr CalumMurdo Kennedy I in 1999 and was formally recognised by the then Athletics Association (now known as Aberdeen University Sports Union) in December 1999. When Mr Kennedy had to leave Aberdeen in 2003 Mr Tom Slowey IV kindly agreed to take over. In January 2004, Mr Steve Lamb II became our instructor until the club was handed over to Mr Dan Scheer III (then 2^nd Kup) in September 2004. In January 2005 our club decided to leave the then British Isles Taekwon-Do Federation (BITF) and joined the Independent Taekwon-Do Schools under Mr Murdoch VI, based here in Aberdeen. As Mr Scheer decided to open his own school in September 2009, the club was passed on to Mr Thierry Mamer II. One year later, in 2010, Mr Mamer moved away from Aberdeen at which point Mr Kris Carbis II took over teaching of the club. In 2011 Mr. Carbis was sent on placements away from Aberdeen, at which point Mr. Hallur Simonsen I and Mr. Douglas Dutton took over teaching on a split basis. From September 2012 the role of instructor was passed to Mr. Ranald Gibson I.

As of September 2012, training is taught by Mr Ranald Gibson I. Saturday trainings along with some weekday trainings are taken by higher graded Colour Belts (with the appropriate qualifications) to give them a chance of getting some teaching experience and thus enhancing their own training.

The list below names the regular instructors of the club.

The club committee is elected by club members annually at the club’s AGM.
These people are chosen to run all administrative parts of the club. Any queries or comments regarding the school should be directed at them.
